Coming from Instapaper

Stop paying monthly for read-it-later

Instapaper's premium tier now runs $5.99/mo after its 2026 price rise (about $60/year, indefinitely). Stash is $9.99, once. Bring your saved list over in one step.

“$60 a year is absurd… I used to pay for Instapaper, then it was sold and went free, now it's back to a pay service.”

Three steps

  1. Export from InstapaperGo to instapaper.com/user → Export, and download the .csv (keeps your folders) or .html file.
  2. Open Stash → Settings → "Coming from Instapaper?"Click Import from Instapaper and choose that file.
  3. ReadYour saved links land on your shelf with folders carried over as tags. Article text fills in the moment you open each one.

What carries over: URL, title, folder (as a tag), and archived status.

What doesn't: Instapaper's export doesn't include full article text or highlights either: Stash re-fetches and cleans each article the first time you open it.

Why people are switching

No subscription, ever: $9.99 once, after a 14-day trial, versus $5.99 every month. No account. Full-text search, highlights, offline reading, and private end-to-end encrypted sync. And your data stays yours: one-click export any time, including a plain HTML file that opens in any browser forever: see how.
