Privacy policy

The short version: your contacts and location never leave your iPhone. There is no account and no server.

What we collect

Nothing. MapMyContacts has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no trackers. We do not see your contacts, your location, or anything else you do in the app.

What stays on your device

To draw the map, the app works with the following on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else:

• Your contacts' postal addresses, turned into map locations so each person can be shown as a pin.
• Your device location, to show where you are and to sort who is nearby.
• Your settings, such as your chosen app icon and whether proximity nudges are on, saved locally.

Permissions, and why

• Contacts — to read the postal addresses already in your address book and place them on the map. Contacts without an address are simply not shown.
• Location (While Using the App) — to show your position and sort contacts by distance. You can also enable proximity nudges, which use location to tell you when a contact is close.
• Notifications — optional, only if you turn on proximity nudges, to let you know when you are near someone you know.

You can change or withdraw any of these at any time in the iOS Settings app, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Map data

The map itself is drawn using Apple's built-in MapKit. Turning addresses into locations and showing the map may send the relevant address or map region to Apple to render the result, handled under Apple's own privacy terms. MapMyContacts adds no other outside requests.

Payments

MapMyContacts is a one-time purchase on the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details.

Children

MapMyContacts is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date below will change with it.
